About Dr. Alfaro

Dr. Maria Alfaro earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2010 from University of Costa Rica, School of Dentistry. Her constant intrigue for professional growth and passion for complex dental rehabilitation made her pursue a degree in Prosthodontics along with a Master of Oral Health Sciences from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Dr. Alfaro also completed a prosthodontics internship program at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Dentistry. During her time at UIC she became a research scholar at the Institute of Biomaterials, Tribocorrosion and Nanomedicine (IBTN). Her work was presented and awarded in numerous dental conferences nationwide. She has co-authored more than a dozen peer-reviewed articles in different areas of prosthodontics involving dental implants, CAD/CAM dentistry, and prosthetic materials. In addition to being a key member of the team at ClearChoice Dental Implant Center in Dallas, Dr. Alfaro worked as an Associate General Practitioner in a multi-specialty practice in San Jose, Costa Rica. She also served as the Assistant Director of Digital Health Sciences and Technology at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. After fulfilling her research and clinical goals in the Midwest area, Dr. Alfaro relocated to Dallas and joined the Comprehensive Dentistry Department at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry were she directly supervised senior dental students in fixed and removable prosthodontics procedures. Dr. Alfaro’s true calling is to help people and develop their trust and self-esteem back with a smile that was somehow forgotten.
